Description

Explore your creativity and make something very useful. Block printing on fabric is FUN and FUNCTIONAL!

First, you’ll need to choose your favourite motif, then we will turn it into an original, hand-carved block.

Next, you’ll learn everything you need to know to make plain fabric exciting. No experience is necessary as I will guide you through every step from the initial design to the finished product. If you have previously attended my Block Printing workshop, this is a wonderful way to extend your knowledge.

By the end of the session, you will have at least one gorgeous and practical, hand-printed 100% cotton Tea towel to take home. You will also know how to adapt the process so that you can design and print more at home. Imagine adding your designs to bolts of fabric, bags, T-shirts, pencil cases etc… This process is PERFECT for making individualised gifts or it could even be the start of a new side hustle.

Blocking printing is a versatile process that is easy to do at home because you don’t need a lot of space or an expensive Printing Press. You will keep the block you create so you can use it again and again. Each block is a bespoke stamp that can also make fine art, limited edition, Prints or unique greeting cards, wrapping paper, or collage elements for other Art projects.

I love the focus and concentration required to carve each block. It’s a wonderful way of experiencing mindfulness. I also love making multiple copies of one design.

This workshop is for you if:

  • you’re a complete beginner looking for an exciting creative experience.
  • you remember doing a Linocut at school and want to re-engage with this simple but effective printmaking process.
  • block printing is already something you do but you want to learn ways to take what you know to a whole new level.
  • you’re looking for a relaxing way to spend an afternoon, mingling with people who also know the value of taking time out for some creative self-care.

Take your inspiration from ideas and images supplied on the day or you are welcome to bring ideas of your own. You’ll be guided and supported a little or a lot depending on your wishes and offered honest advice and feedback so that by the end of the session, you’ll have a real sense of satisfaction.

What’s included:

  • One 11 x 11 cm double-sided square block to carve during the session (and keep forever).
