About Studio Yellow

Welcome to Studio Yellow, a creative space designed to help you reconnect with your artistic self and find joy in the process of making art. Studio Yellow was founded by Natalie Lynch, a Bachelor-qualified art educator with over 30 years of experience teaching both children and adults.

Whether you are just starting out or have some experience, the classes are tailored to meet your individual needs. This ensures you feel relaxed and supported every step of the way in developing your creativity.

Studio Yellow is the culmination of a long-held dream to help adults rediscover their creativity while nurturing their mental health. Art is more than just a hobby; it is a powerful way to express yourself, reduce stress, and build confidence. I believe everyone can benefit from making art, no matter their skill level. Whether you are a complete beginner taking that first tentative step, or someone looking to refine your skills, I am here to guide and inspire you on your artistic journey.

As Albert Einstein once said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.” At Studio Yellow, we encourage you to break that cycle, try something new, and discover the transformative power of creativity.

About Natalie from Studio Yellow

Natalie spent 30 years as a QLD registered teacher.  She brought the joy of art to students of all ages and abilities in both State and Independent schools. Her passion for teaching art now extends to adults.  The focus is not only on how to make art, but more importantly, why to make art.

In 2009, Natalie’s life changed overnight when she became a widow and single mum after 22 years of marriage. Her husband lost his battle with depression.  Consequently she  began her own journey of healing and discovery.

Art became more than just a profession for Natalie—it became her therapy.  This was a way to process emotions and find peace during an incredibly difficult time.

Throughout Natalie’s career, she was inspired by the children and teenagers she taught.  Watching their eyes light up when they realised, “I can do it!” It is amazing how much joy can come from basic materials when paired with a little know-how.

Yet, as adults, so many have lost that sense of creative expression. Natalie goal is to encourage everyone she meets to engage in art-making.  Because it helps you to process your emotions and brings a sense of play and joy back into your daily life.

Life Does Get Busy—But Your Creativity Matters!

I know how hectic life can be, but as adults, when we keep putting off the things we love. Putting off things we love can significantly impact our health and well-being. That is why at Studio Yellow we are here to help you rediscover your creative spark.  Thereby through art, you will reconnect with who you truly are.

At Studio Yellow, we believe everyone should be sketching, painting, printing, or sculpting their way toward fulfillment. Art-making allows us to pause.  Therefore we connect with our thoughts and take a well-deserved break from the demands of daily life. Whether you need to express yourself, find some peace, or  want to try something new, art therefore is for everyone.

Natalie was once told, “Everyone needs someone to love, something to do, and something to look forward to.” And during challenging times, this could not be more true. I hope you’ll join us at Studio Yellow, where together, we can help you achieve all three through the joy of creativity.
